So I find myself at Abbey Road Sudios this month, not for the first time since this pandemic started , but this time is very special. A strings recording in Studio One, courtesy of the ever amazing and talented Rosie Danvers from Wired Strings. She has created this beautiful project with one of her regular producers and it has been such a joy to be part of. There is such an atmosphere in Studio One at Abbey Road, where so many incredible artists have recorded and fulfilled their artistic creativity. The producer would like us to record through, no stopping, it is beautiful music, it feels like playing a symphony. It does feel surreal looking round at a room full of string players like me, violinist, violists, cellists and double bass players, all in the same Corona boat. All tours postponed or cancelled, all West End Shows stopped for the foreseeable future, no live concerts until 2021. It can be overwhelming to think of this, as I look round the room at my friends, we are in a sort of limbo. After 2 full days of recording my arms are tired but my heart is full.
